Miss Mikayla's debut to the FIRST GRADE!

So yesterday was Mikayla first day at 1st grade! this is a huge deal because up until now she's been at the same school (daycare, preschool and kindergarten were all in the same place) so this was a big change and a BIG deal! She's been being prepped by all three of us all summer for the bus ride, the cafeteria, the after school care, etc and she was EXCITED! We all went to the fair on Monday (her last day before school!) and the four of us shared treats around the table and talked more about it, she asked questions, we all had answers (thanks Marina for doing so much prep before!) Marina called last night just after dinnner with Mikayla to tell us ALL about her first day. Mikayla had a little oopsie, we had talked about her after school care and Marina had told her that after school she would take her homework next door to the after school care and do her homework, do some fun stuff and stay out of trouble well supervised until Mom picked her up after work (and school, man is Marina taking it all on! She's working full time and taking 15 credits!) Well Mikayla didn't have homework on her first day so she went to the front of the school and waited for Mommy. Well, the school saw her waiting and checked with her and figured they better call the parental units to see what this little cute first grader was doing sitting on the steps of the school, they couldn't get ahold of Marina (she was working) so Keith got a call and talked to the school and then Mikayla (he said it was pretty cute, I would have been stressing!) and they figured it out and sent her over to her after school care. We had a nice chat about all of the fun things she did on her first day, learned about her teacher, got to know some of the other kids in her class (14 boys and 9 girls, man will I be praying for her teacher!) Keith got a little teary when we were getting off the phone (I'm getting that way typing now!) I can't wait to see her Friday and hear all about her great first week!
