church wedding coordinator(s)

I met with Stacy (our church wedding coordinator) and Amy her back up last night and OH MY GOODNESS did I have a blast! Stacy is the current coordinator but there is a possibility that she may be moving so Amy is being trained and backing her up just in case she needs to jump in and do the job. I met Amy a couple weeks ago at a sunday lunch with some friends of ours but at the time I didn't know there was a possibility that she could be coordinating. totally fun. Stacy has a son in Cubbies so Cori knew her and Keith had seen her around but she just coordinated a friend of the families wedding and she did great (so I heard) so I'm totally excited.

We spent over two hours going through EVERYTHING! who will be where, who sits where, who is seating whom, what music, what we're doing for rehearsal, sound techs, I mean EVERYTHING! and it was so fun to talk to someone all about all the fun parts of the wedding. I know, I share with all of you but to have give and take from someone other than my mom lately! It was fantastic.

Stacy filled out at least 5 sheets of questions with me and then she'll be sitting down with our administrative pastor to the stars (Dave is the man) and then back with me for a few answers that I couldn't come up with last night. (who sits where in the ceremony, what music for the processional and what music I'm walking up to, etc)

I will tell you, I breathed a sigh of relief knowing that they will have my back all day, it's very similar to the discussions I've seen on day of coordination. everything from early morning letting the caterer in to making sure that the clean up crew and janitorial service has finished and the church is ready for sunday morning service. I'm so impressed. they need a raise. big time.
