I'll just put it out there. I have a problem with the Easter Bunny and Santa. I think they were both sent straight from Satan to ruin two wonderful holy and loved holidays that celebrate the birth of my Savior, the crucifixion of my Savior and the miracle of him rising again on the third day... and no I'm not kidding.
It all started with the church lady on Saturday night back in the day. When she rearranged Santa's name to Satan the deal was sealed with me. Yes, I laugh at it now but I learned something on Saturday night live.
This all worked out for me quite well until Mikayla came on the scene. As her step mom I don't get to make these calls, that kind of thing is up to her parents (as it should be!) and her parents have Santa and the Easter Bunny on the scene so I'm going with it.
But I am trying to make sure that she knows the IMPORTANT part of the holidays.
I'm ok with Santa with Mikayla because she's just so cute about it. She's all about birthday cake for Jesus, she's all about playing with the nativity, she always wants to hear that story, and Santa is fun but she doesn't like to see him up close, she doesn't write him a letter, but we do have fun with stockings, not too bad, kinda fun...
So this weekend, the big E. Her Mom had her Saturday for family time at a BIG Easter egg hunt, we got her Saturday night and she and I had some alone car time and I was asking her what had happened that morning, I wanted to hear ALL about it. She told me about her egg hunt but she also told me about the Easter Bunny coming to Papa's house. She said Papa told her there was bunny tracks on the way to her Easter basket, she said HA! the Easter bunny doesn't leave little bunny tracks he's MUCH bigger.
I had to ask.
Did you know that the Easter bunny is a guy in a suit that brings you your treats. Yep, just like the bunny at the mall. That's what she told me!
Precious.
