American Idol the TOP 5!!

Last night American Idol made my whole week by showing off NEIL DIAMOND! Now I'm nerdier than most, I grew up with KOMO radio on in the morning and that means a ton of Neil growing up. And a few years back a ton of us went and saw him here in Seattle with about 10000 grey hairs. But we had fun, good clean fun. Neil, he's amazing in concert. I mean like Bon Jovi good and if you know me, that's huge.

Highlight of the night for me? Paula + meds = cuckoo for cocoa puffs. what was with her critiquing two songs when only one had been performed? Medical help, quick.

Ok, on with the night.

Jason Castro -

“Forever In Blue Jeans” - Stupid song and stupid performance. What is he thinking? I'm beginning to think he just doesn't care because his performances totally have that I'm a slacker feel to them.

“September Morn” - Could he look more out of place compaired to the other performers? He seems like a nice enough kid but jeez, he's outta his league

David Cook - I LOVED THE AC on his jacket and guitar, is that a take on his name and my favorite group? David Cook is DC (AC/DC??) I hope so. the jacket was AMAZING!

“I’m Alive” - I'm a Neil fan and I had never heard this, which may have played well for him because I sure liked him singing it! That's it kids, he's my pick

“All I Really Need Is You” - Does talent just make you hotter because he's off the charts. Great performance and he has this impy little winky smirk thing. he should keep doing this.

Brooke White -

“I’m A Believer” - NO NO NO! tsk tsk. She was shaky, pitchy and looked so nervous! Where is the old Brooke! the Carly Simon feel to her is just gone. I don't get it.

“I Am, I Said” - The piano helped but still, really shaky. I'm bummed because I really liked Brooke!

David Archuleta -

“Sweet Caroline” - what no whoa whoa whoas? David did a pretty decent job, I'm a purist though and he changed this up a little too much for me. But decent.

“America” - We're coming to America! nice job kiddo! This was an amazing performance. Great song choice and arrangement.

Syesha Mercado -

“Hello Again” - Amazing. I'm thinking of getting it as a ringtone I loved it SO much. She's got Broadway written ALL over her! Bring on Dreamgirls, we've got a lead!

“Thank The Lord For The Nighttime” - not my favorite, I would have ended with Hello Again. but she did ok.

Should go: Based on tonight? Brooke
Will go: I hate to say it but I'm worried for Syesha.
Best of the night: David Cook hands down. Not as good as Daughtry but pretty dang amazing.
