I really feel like specific people are brought into our lives to touch us, to help us through things, to make us laugh, etc. I think God is AMAZING for orchestrating even the smallest of conversations and I had one of those yesterday at church.
Yesterday morning I was grabbed by quite a few LOVELY folks who I hadn't seen since the wedding or not for any length since the wedding in the lobby, we missed church the day after our wedding, I made it to the next week, then we had the holidays and then last weekend we were in Leavenworth so this Sunday was the first real catch up Sunday to gab.
Well, I posted briefly that Keith and I had our first tiff. some of it completely over dramatized by me, hey I'm not perfect. It started with my lame wad christmas tree which while lovely at the wedding was too dang big for my little condo. I was irritated with it all season, we never really decorated it, I just wasn't into it this year (hey man I was on wedding hangover!) anyway, the tree was taken out last week and Keith couldn't get it out of the stand (it was screwed in SUPER tight) so he picked it up with the tree still attached to the stand to take it out of the condo, he says he didn't think there would be any water left in it, well there was. Alot. of murky moldy water.
So picture when I got home, there was a muddy stain in the cream carpet, there were pine needles EVERYWHERE, and I mean EVERYWHERE. The vacuum was toast because you just can't run a Oreck over wet needles, it doesn't happen. So we went out and bought a little shop vac and I got down on my hands and knees and took care of the pine needles and two night of work later the mess was fixed (thanks Dad for the spot bot this Christmas! who knew I'd need it for that!)
Anyway, back to church. A dear mom. one of your mother in laws (we'll call her Norma, which is even funnier if you know her) and I were having a chat in the hall, Norma is one of the few people I can let it all hang out with cause quite frankly she's about the least judgemental human on the planet. She just has this thing. And she's known me FOREVER. Anyway. She asked how everything was going and I said great, we just had our one little tiff thus far and she asked what and I told her and in a truly divine moment she one upped me. She told me a story about her hubs and what he did to their first Christmas tree, and let me tell you..
There is nothing more scary than a frustrated man.
I know that was Keith, I can invision it when I close my eyes. that stupid tree stand not budging, my dad waiting, oh man, that's a combo made for messes. It made me actually put myself in his spot and "get it" it doesn't mean I'm happy about it but it made me think about it.
So thanks Norma I needed that. I think it's so great when we can encourage each other. Even over silly stuff. ;)

I don't think I know the story she told you, but I'm sure going to ask!
