The new office...

I would like to update you all on what has been consuming a VERY large chunk of my time. I've been working much too much, but the end is in sight! Some of you know that our office is currently under Pike Place Market. I love it here but climbing up the stairs to get anywhere kinda sucks. I have 6 flights of stairs JUST to get to the elevator to get to the market and then I walk 4 block further to get to the bus. So while I love the market and working around it, the walks I won't miss.

All that to say we're moving to Pioneer Square into a historic building that we have COMPLETELY redone (kinda fun to be the architect and engineer on your own building!). It's right now one month to move (original move date was only two weeks away but alas, the dreaded contractor is not going to be done so we delay the move which I'm ALL FOR!)

The new building is beautiful. I've only seen it framed, I can't wait to see walls but they've left all of the cool 100 year old wood beams, they salvaged more of the wood and are making most of our cabinets from the old wood, the lower level is former Seattle street level and the rock work is all still original down there. Just amazing the preservation that they've accomplished!

So while I'm really excited about the new space, what it means for me is cleaning out 10 year old stuff here, gettnig people used to keeping things AWAY and not out, meeting with movers, meeting with the new owners of our current space, making keys, getting our plants moved, getting our copiers moved, working to get the coffee service over there and seamless before the move. oh the fun... So if in the next month I seem a little distant? it's the move. It's my cop out for the next month!

Isn't it GORGEOUS!
