So just a quick couple of things about my 26 hours of fun Friday night/Saturday.
I was dropped off at the church about 1pm Friday to jump in and help the Jr. Retreat team in any way possible and MAN IT WAS FUN! I made schedules, I made score sheets, I figured out mystery bible characters for the kids to guess, I stuffed staff binders (with lots of help) and man that's a fun team. Everyone just jumped in and did what was needed!
We had snow Friday so we did have some late kids and some REALLY bad traffic but we made it to camp (two busses of us!) just in time for dinner. Reine and I had a cabin together which was a TOTAL blast. 18 girls, two adults, now there's some fun!
Friday night the games went really well, we worked on making new friends and not continuing the same clique groups that area always around (and in their defence, they aren't high school type of cliques just girls who know each other REALLY well that stick together) and it went REALLY well.
Friday night the boys thought it would be a BLAST (Thanks Brian paybacks are going to suck buddy) and doused my bedding and cabin with little boy cologne (or it may have been Brian's) and then at about 12:30 just when we had the girls in their cute little bunks the boys came through and banged on our wall so loud that I really thought we may be having a earthquake. I had one little girl lose it and cry, I mean CRY! I felt so bad for her! We got them all settled back down and got to sleep!
Saturday was breakfast, more games and TONS of free time. I had a great time with some of my girls and also with some leaders in a LONG card game during free time!
Then the final meeting, the points were counted AND.... MY TEAM FINALLY WON! it's been 5 years of mediocrity and suddenly NO MORE!
We then loaded up the busses, headed back to the land of snow and made it to the church in time for the annual spaghetti dinner (a great fundraiser for the quiz team at our church)
I'm beat, but man do I love me some Jr. Retreat!
I have pictures and more stories to come!
