I side hugged him. c'mon, does it get better than that?

Last night I had the pleasure of seeing one of my very favorite artists (only outdone by Chris Rice in my book and it's NECK IN NECK!) This was my third time seeing him, kinda nice, I knew what to expect. I had very high expectations on the evening (probably because I had to eat pb&j for a while to afford the ticket!) and I was not dissapointed! My friend Barb and I met up and went to a quick dinner and then headed in to meet some of the people from Bungalow-B (the fan club, yes, I'm that big of a dork) at the concert. Barb knew them ALL, it was a blast. We negotiated some better seats with some fan club folks who were going to eat their seats (extras, these women are insane!) so up we headed to our seats (Row E, yes that's 5th row!) and waited through the opening act. Jan Arden (had a hit a while back, I recognized it but it's old) she was pretty good, real folksy which is a weird combo with Michael. anyway. He took to the stage at like 8:45? started with I'm your man, probably the best song he could have picked to start. People were going crazy! After a couple songs he introduced the audience to his family, there were probably a hundred people there that were all blood related (he had them raise their hands) and Barb said the night before (she went then too) there were that many as well! fun to be so close to his home town of Burnaby. I thought of you Tammy, he talked about going school shopping at Bellis Fair (ha!) anyway, he started talking about the 4th wall (in theater that means joining the audience) he walked off the stage right to us. I got a picture of him next to Barb and she got one of me (I'll post it as soon as I get the shots from her) he gave his bodyguard a piggy back ride (that's Steve who is adorable too!) and back to the stage he went to sing a little more. A little later he pointed out his grandma and told us all that it was her birthday and he came down again into the audience with a birthday cupcake and sang to his grandma (also RIGHT by us) so sweet.

Next big deal. So there's benefits to going to a concert like this with Barb. 1. she knows the ropes 2. she knows when certain things are going to happen

Barb knew EXACTLY when to go up to the stage and pushed me up there just as every other lady in the place was running to the stage. we beat them. We were front and center, tummy to the wall looking right up at him singing his heart out. (hence the really cool pictures from right underneath him) we had lots of eye contact (he's a pro I tell you!) and lots of hand grabs, etc. it was fab. Pretty cool to watch him sing from that close, he's got a ton of control and power. I was impressed.

We ended the night out waiting for the bus with some fan club gals, I can honestly say I've never done that before, it was odd. fun to talk to everyone but odd. He didnt' come out (which I guess is really rare) but he sent Steve out to tell us at least so I could get home. Barb is going tonight to wait to see him. I'll be in bed.

In closing. I had a great time. It was worth every penny. He puts on a fantastic show and if you ever get the chance, jump on it. he's a seasoned performer and a pretty funny guy. I had a blast.

Here's Michael giving his bodyguard Steve a piggy back. and yes, he was that close.

That's Barb on the far right weaseling in to the photo. well done. we'll be photoshopping that other girl right out of the photo.

here's Michael singing with me right under him. ;)

Michael with the cupcake and his way cute grandma. he's got a great looking bunch of family by the way.
