Keith and I had the absolute pleasure to be invited up to Burlington by Mikayla and Marina (her Momma) to their very cute town's Dairy Berry days parade on Saturday. Marina has lived in the area her entire life and now missy girl (Mikayla) is growing up there too!
Let me tell you, nothing is cuter than a small town that gets together for a celebration and a very very cute parade.
The police, color guard and fire department started off the show!
tractors on a flat bed. could you die!
steam tractor, only part of the tractors that had been in the tractor parade the evening before.
line of little cars pulled by a tractor
The Samish Island band, there were about 12 of them. And yes one guy playing the triangle. I want that job!
MY FAVORITE! THE WILD WOMEN OF WOOLLEY! this group of ladies does a calendar every year for charity! all from my kids town! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! a few good men! ha!
The shriners!
Miss Okanogan herself!
The Skagit Select baseball team. how the heck? they'll let anyone in!
Over at the park after the parade. Mikayla played in the community fountain, we ate strawberry shortcake from the cheerleaders fundraiser and a guy from the Skagit Valley Herald took a very cute picture of Marina giving Mikayla a bite, but it didn't get in the paper. waaah!
This truck was covered in bubble wrap! How was I supposed to keep her off!
on the way home from a great adventure with a bag of fresh popped kettle corn. YUM!
A note in advance. Mikayla is participating in the Sedrow Woolley cheer camp next weekend and she gets to march in their 4th of July parade with the other cheerleaders. As I'm sure you can imagine, I'm coming out of my skin in excitement! Daddy wants her to play soccer and I'm secretly hoping for some cheer in our future! ;)
