Interesting Article, thought I'd share

As previously discussed we are cutting back in some areas (mostly because we were spending rediculous amounts of money on rediculous things) and one that I've taken charge of is our grocery spending. I'm meal planning, I'm shopping ONLY once a week, etc.

Well, I thought I was doing pretty good and was pretty stunned that last weeks groceries were only 36$ but dang, this lady is only spending $20 a WEEK! on groceries. Amazing.

I don't know that I want to get this drastic, I mean, I already went from CRAZY money down to a manageable amount in my eyes but hey, go for it! I like my meat and she states they get their protein from beans and lentils. Yeah, Keith wouldn't be going for that.

Do you guys have any sneaky grocery tricks? I'm realizing that there's things I should have stocked up on (like two weeks ago when Safeway had ground beef for 1.50 a pound!) but I'll get there. I'd love your ideas!

C'mon, I know you ladies are good at this stuff, help me out, I'm still learning!

I've been trying the tips from the Grocery Game- particularly buying things when they are both on sale and I have a coupon for them. That really reduces the price. Also, I try to make my way to Grocery Outlet every once in a while to stock up on random things like canned goods. I dont find it to be a place where I can get everything on my list, but it's good for some of the stuff.

I've been thinking I need a grocery outlet trip, thanks for the push. I haven't been there in FOREVER!

I try to go early and look for marked-down meat. I found 80% hamburger for $1.35 and chuck roast for something similar at Sam's club. I also shop in several different stores for the best prices.
